Donor Privacy

CBB does not sell, rent, or trade donor names, contact information, donation history, or other personal information for another organization’s marketing purposes.

We may publicly recognize donors in reports, event materials, displays, or other communications. A donor may request anonymity or ask not to be publicly recognized by contacting us. We will honor the request prospectively, subject to disclosures required by law and records needed for accounting, audit, tax, grant, and regulatory purposes.

We may use service providers to process gifts, maintain donor records, send acknowledgments and communications, conduct events, and support our fundraising systems. • As part of a merger, reorganization, transfer of assets, or similar organizational change, subject to appropriate protections.
  • With your direction or consent.

We may also use and share information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it does not reasonably identify an individual.

Retention periods vary based on the type of information and the reason it was collected.

Your Choices and Requests

You may contact CBB to request that we update or correct your contact information, change communication preferences, record a donor anonymity request, or delete personal information that we are not required to retain. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some information may be retained when required by law or reasonably necessary for financial, tax, audit, grant, security, or recordkeeping purposes.

Children’s Privacy

Our general website is intended for a broad audience and is not designed to collect personal information directly from children under 13 without the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. If we learn that personal information was submitted by a child under 13 through the general website without appropriate permission, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
