No Surprises is a half-day Midwest music, comedy, and vendor showcase and $500 Spades tournament benefitting Care Beyond the Boulevard (CBB). Greater Kansas City’s un- and underinsured rely on the free, vital mobile healthcare services CBB provides.
Emceed by comedian Aaron Scarbrough, No Surprises is a spotlight on who’s next in the region’s stacked indie and alternative music scenes, featuring Social Cinema (LNK/ICT), Rat Tally (CHI), Grady Drugg (SGF), Hot Joy (STL), Brian Gerald Bulger (KC), Modeling (NWArk), and Teri Quinn & The Coyotes (KC).
In addition, a $500 Spades tournament is an homage to the season and gathering with friends and families and to the amounts of downtime touring bands have on the road while chasing it down. One skillful pair will walk away with some padding for the holidays.
